TAMS 3 Grant for Farmers - Up to €90,000 Solar Grant

To be eligible for the TAMS 3 grant, you must be a registered farmer or rural business owner with the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine. Additionally, you must have a Tax Reference Number (TRN) and a Personal Public Service Number (PPSN). These identification requirements ensure that the grant is awarded to genuine agricultural professionals.

The grant has specific minimum and maximum investment levels to ensure fair distribution of funding. Under TAMS 3, the investment ceiling is set at €90,000 per individual, joint venture, or company. This allows a wide range of farm sizes and agricultural operations to benefit from the scheme, making solar panel installations more accessible.

Applicants must have a minimum of five hectares of land, either owned or leased. They must also have applied for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS), formerly known as the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS), for those acres. Farmers of all ages can apply for the TAMS 3 grant. However, younger farmers under 40 years old must have a herd number in their own name. Those over 40 years old must have held a herd number for at least two years. This ensures that both new and established farmers have access to funding.
